Over centuries cattle has been at the centre of our civilisation spiritually, culturally and economically. Our scriptures, traditions and great epics i.e. Ramayana and Mahabharata have held cattle and especially cow in high regards, both for it and for the people who protect or donate it. For instance Lord Ramachandra was known for donating millions of cows to the needy and on other hand Lord Krishna has been known for protecting cows 'Go-Brahmana Hitayacha' as he is worshipped.

Let the subjects be governed and nourished by the rulers, who follow a path of justice. Let the cattle and the righteous people have goodness and let all people be happy says our religion, such is the cultural connect cattle had with our civilisation.
With westernisation our civilisation is just concentrating on the economical aspect of it ignoring the spiritual and cultural connection it has with our great cultural heritage and as a result we are seeing the depletion of our indigenous cattle species which are regarded as Kamadenu.
It is high time that our civilisation revisits this spiritual and cultural connection and preserve the indigenous cattle species which has for thousands of years helped the existence of our civilisation. With the motive of conservation of India's indigenous cattle species we desire to establish a Centre for Indigenous Cow Conservation.
Planned at the serene countryside about 150 KM from Bangalore, we desire to make this a hub of protection of ever depleting Indigenous cattle breeds of India. The Gau saketa aims to emphasise on this cultural importance of protecting cows which is indeed a blessing to human race apart from its economic aspect.
The Gau saketa will have state of the art Goshala and we aim to provide shelter to around 1000 indigenous cattle within the next 5 years. The first phase of the project will aim at creating an environment of Goshala and the second phase would concentrate on conservation of various types of indigenous species.

This verse from Rig Samhita prays the supreme Lord, complemented by all the Gods, to create auspicious and spacious cowsheds for the happiness of human race and populate them with cows and calves. The verse further suggests that human race must rejoice the cow-wealth and content ourselves by serving those cows.
Dear Patron, you have been a great supporter of many noble causes, and on behalf of Gau saketa we solicit the assistance of your good self to this divine project.
